Ilia Rogatchevski is an audio producer, music writer and artist working at the intersections of sound, performance and visual media. His journalism has appeared in The Wire, The Quietus, Bandcamp Daily, The British Library and Louder Than War, among other publications. He has also produced radio programmes, podcasts, mixes and experimental works for the likes of BBC 6 Music, Worldwide, Resonance, Barbican, Do You Radio and Radiophrenia.

In addition to his freelance audio work, he is currently the executive producer at The Radiophonic Institute, managing several flagship projects including the Sound of the Year Awards, Radiophonic Travel Agency, Radiophonic Broadcast and The Museum of Sound. Previously, he has worked as a music content specialist for YouTube Music, content curator for Meta (Facebook, Instagram), community manager for Muse Group’s Audio.com and a playlist curator for Space Ape’s Beatstar.

As a solo artist, and as part of the duo Mute Frequencies, he has exhibited and performed at various venues in the UK and abroad including Cafe Oto, Hundred Years Gallery, Dilston Grove, Project Divfuse, TACO!, Radio Revolten, Dronica, Splice, Supernormal, Open House and End of the Road. His compositions often employ found sound, investigate inaudible frequencies of the audio spectrum and the potential for electromagnetic waves to convey information, as well as ideas relating to imperceptibility.
